Postcards from Sweden

Submitted by jono on 10 Aug 2017.

Today was a perfect day. Beautiful weather, scenery, met many friendly and kind people, ended up at a delightful little place called Grundsund.
I'm a bit tired to write much, so will scribble a few postcards instead...

  • For the first few hours in Sweden the coastline was barely visible, but wind was great. The rain smoothed out the water and it felt like sailing on a deep pile carpet.
  • When the rain cleared the wind went too. I found myself in an archeapelago with many small beaches. A bit of paddle work got me to this one.
  • Patriotic wet weather gear. Had a nice chat with this windsurfer who offered a place to stay. but it was too early in the day to stop. Apologies for rotating you 90º and missing your name.
  • On to today. Sunshine. At Smögen, people basking on the rocks
  • The coastguard came to say hello. The guy who fits in the frame is a windsurfer (apologies again for missing name)
  • Seals, basking on the rocks
  • Windsurfer Phantom, basking on the rocks
  • Lichens
  • Grundsund. Just had a phenomenal arrival here thanks to contact Sven (who isn't even here), Sven's friends Dag and Maud (who luckily for me are), Hans the harbour master, Christine (also thanks for place to leave gear), and Pelles restaurant (big thanks for food)
